Craigard Brews a Positive Outcome with Latest Sale
Craigard’s Courtney House in Cardiff is set to undergo a significant transformation as it becomes the new home for Brains Brewery.
The site has been sold to the brewery for £1.7million, which will be relocating to the building following the news that its current site is to be part of one of the biggest regeneration projects in Wales, Central Quay.
The brewery has been considering sites for some time, but has finally settled on the Pacific Park site – which is almost 31,500 sq ft of modern warehouse space. It has already applied for planning application to convert the building.
“This is quite a move for a significant player in Cardiff,” comments David Foster. “We’re delighted that Brains Brewery selected Courtney House as its new headquarters. The building is an attractive acquisition – a modern, top-quality warehouse with good transport links and still close to the City Centre. A small, but tidy profit for our syndication in what continues to be a challenging market.”
Brains Brewery chief executive Scott Waddington said: “Courtney House offers us the ideal facility to construct a modern, fit-for-purpose new brewery, in addition to developing the first floor into a high-quality office space.
We are finalising our plans for the brewery, which presents a real opportunity for full modernisation and readying the business for the future.”
